A Few of Our Projects

Client: Beckley Academy

In this project, Learning Alchemy works to develop training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and psychedelic care for practitioners. Our first project involved curriculum development for a 60-hour blended online program Foundations of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. We collaborated closely with a group of experienced subject matter experts to design this program, and created written content, guided audio visualizations, infographics, visual models to support learning, and more. The program focused on psychodynamic, somatic, and transpersonal approaches as well as ethical practice and the self-work required of practitioners working in this unique area of practice. Feedback on the course has been incredibly positive, with multiple participants commenting that it was the most profound educational experience of their career.

Our current work involves the development of an introductory 30-hour program for many kinds of psychedelic care practitioners, including doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, peer specialists, chaplains, and guides.

Courses include interactive scenarios and case examples to support application to work with clients. Exercises are integrated throughout the courses to support deeper learning and support the transfer of skills to the workplace.

Client: The Empowerment Program

Learning Alchemy was approached by The Empowerment Program to develop training for peer-specialists who needed support with clinical documentation, specifically DAP Notes and Service Planning. Learning Alchemy met with agency supervisors to thoroughly assess needs and develop an approach that would address staff skill development as well as agency procedures impacting documentation. Learning Alchemy developed a series of live online and in-person workshops for staff, allowing time between sessions for practice. The spaced-practice approach allowed staff to try out new skills and get feedback, further refining their approach and allowing supportive application of new skills to practice.
